I was invited on this Easter Sunday to Mrs Hilferty's house for dinner. Usually these meetings with her and Clay border on very depressing because it tends to be all about Lynn's dirty work of sticking her with loan payments of over $450K. This money was supposed to be paid off by the Life Insurance and never was. Lynn took the Insurance to Texas and bought a house cash.

Now, Mrs Hilferty has a dead son, and enough indebtedness (she kept selling Mrs H shares in her house bit by bit...) in her late years (she's a pensioner) that she may lose her house while Lynn (Pat's wife) lives the good life in Austin, Texas with the 3 kids. Fine for the kids, but they made an agreement that Lynn would pay her debts with the Insurance money, instead she skips town having pulled the wool over Mrs H's eyes.

Michelle was at this meeting today, and she is a beauty. She's got a ton of energy, likes Audrey Hepburn, and brought our rather morose group to a high point. She later took care of Mo and brought me some Lemon Marangue for the trip home. Great to meet her. She's the perfect person for this crew. She is Pat and Clay's niece about 20, who is also starting work at Starbuck's in SF tomorrow.
